Analisis Efisiensi Proses Pemotongan Wrapping Tape dengan Menggunakan Metode Value Stream Mapping (VSM) dan Pendekatan Lean Manufacturing

The wrapping tape cutting process is still performed manually using scissors,
leading to several issues such as inconsistent cut sizes, long processing times,
and high labor requirements. This study aims to analyze the efficiency of the
wrapping tape cutting process using a Lean Manufacturing approach and the
Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method. Through direct observation and time
measurement, waste identification and production activity mapping were
carried out. The results show that the use of a semi-automatic wrapping tape
cutting tool can reduce processing time from 30,089 seconds to 27,067 seconds.
In addition, the required number of workers decreased by 40%. This
improvement not only enhances time and labor efficiency. Calculations indicate
that the payback period for the investment in this tool is approximately 7 days.
Thus, the lean approach has proven effective in improving process efficiency
within a manufacturing environment.
