Abstrak

PT. ABY is a manufacturing company specializing in tires for various vehicles
and purposes. In the tire industry, the production process involves a series of
complex stages, including the crucial extrusion process to produce tread, which
then undergoes a winding process with the application of a liner fabric. The
main issue arises when the liner fabric does not uniformly coat the tread during
the winding process. This causes treads to stick together and necessitates
rework, increasing production costs. To address this issue, the research applies
the Quality Control Circle (QCC) method to identify the root causes of
misalignment in the liner fabric positioning. Through in depth analysis, the
study successfully explores technical and operational factors influencing this
issue. The solution derived from the QCC analysis, such as the implementation
of auto-centering technology in the winding process, proves effective in
significantly reducing sticky tread issues by 73.4% over the last three months.
The implementation of QCC not only enhances production efficiency but also
improves the final product quality at PT. ABY.
